Our company was founded in 1868 by Mr. Henry C. Smither, and the firm has been in continuous operation since that time. In 2008 we celebrate our 140th year in the professional roofing and sheet metal business, and we are proud to be the oldest roofing contracting firm in the state. Perhaps the most significant result of this fact is that we have been involved with applications of all types of roofing systems, and know how to anticipate and deal with the challenges of roofing in Indiana.
Roofing Capabilities
Our roofing and sheet metal crews install a full range of roofing systems–from traditional built-up roofing to modern single-ply and modified bitumen membranes. We are also fortunate to have several roofers very skilled in the art of installing traditional slate and clay tile roofing systems. Our sheet metal crews also have a great deal of experience installing copper and prefinished metal standing seam roofing systems, and in the fabrication of ornamental sheet metal cornices and other decorative items for historical restorations.
